Overview
The 18" Ceramic Kamado Grill is the compact member of our kamado range, built around a thick ceramic body that grills, smokes, roasts and bakes on lump charcoal. Despite the smaller footprint it delivers the same heat-retaining, flavour-rich cooking as larger kamados, making it a superb space-saving choice for balconies, small patios and courtyards.
Kamado cooking is hands-on in a way pellet grills are not. Instead of an electric controller and pellet hopper, you steer a live charcoal fire with the top and bottom vents. That brings intense searing heat, genuine charcoal character and no dependence on power — a rewarding, traditional style that many cooks prefer once they get the feel for it.
This 18" size suits singles, couples and small families cooking for roughly two to four people, as well as anyone with limited outdoor space who still wants a proper ceramic cooker. It is also easier and cheaper to bring up to temperature than a big kamado. If you regularly cook for larger groups, consider the 21" or 24" models instead.

Frequently asked questions
Kamado vs pellet grill — which is better?
They suit different cooks. A kamado offers higher searing heat, charcoal flavour and no power requirement, but you control the fire with the vents. A pellet grill is more automated and easier for long smokes. If you enjoy hands-on cooking and want great flavour from a compact unit, the kamado is a fine choice.
What size kamado do I need?
Choose by group size and space. An 18" body is perfect for two to four people and tight outdoor areas, and it is quicker and cheaper to heat. A 21" suits most families, while a 24" is aimed at big cook-outs and small F&B. When unsure, size up slightly for flexibility.
How long does charcoal last in a kamado?
Very well, because the ceramic seals in heat. Even this compact model can hold low smoking temperatures for many hours on one load of lump charcoal. High-heat searing uses fuel faster, but a kamado is still noticeably more economical with charcoal than an open grill of similar capacity.
Does a ceramic kamado handle Singapore's humidity?
Yes. Ceramic is weatherproof and made for outdoor life, so humidity poses no real issue. Keep it covered between cooks to protect the metal bands and hinge, make sure the vents are dry before lighting, and store your charcoal sealed so it lights easily even in damp weather.
